What is Shop with a Cop? The “Shop with a Cop” program supports local families experiencing financial hardships. At Lehigh University, police officers are paired with families in the South Bethlehem community. Prior to the event, officers meet with the families and spend time discussing the children's wish lists, and then they proceed to purchase and wrap the gifts requested by the children. On the event day, the children and their families gather at Rathbone Dining Hall. They get the chance to interact with the officers, enjoy breakfast together, receive a surprise visit from Santa, and take home a bag of gifts chosen from their wish lists. These gifts bring joy and charisma to their holiday season, providing a level of happiness they may not have expected. Each family is also gifted with a grocery store gift card that can be used towards their family's holiday meals.
Financial Support: This entire program is funded through generous donations, community support, and an annual golf tournament.
