Lehigh University takes campus safety very seriously. Students, staff, and faculty are partners in creating an atmosphere that is safe and encourages learning. The university has a full police department, police and student bike patrols, an extensive campus emergency telephone system, walking escorts, shuttle buses, and a magnetic card system to enter residence halls.

University Police produces an Annual Security & Annual Fire Safety Report which is available to all students, employees and applicants for admission. It provides information on education, prevention, housing safety, policies and safety tips, as well as the Lehigh Transit System route maps and schedule. Additional detailed information on campus security is distributed to each student and staff member in the Lehigh handbook and in residence life publications.
