Lehigh University takes campus safety very seriously. Students, staff, and faculty are partners in creating an atmosphere that is safe and encourages learning. The Lehigh University Campus Safety Division provides an integrated approach to crime prevention, emergency prepardness, crisis response and communication. As part of the LU Campus Safety Division, the University's Police Department patrols campus on foot and bike patrols, provides an extensive campus emergency telephone system, provides walking escorts, offers shuttle buses, and all students/faculty/staff use a magnetic swipe system to enter residence halls.
Lehigh University Police produces an Annual Security & Annual Fire Safety Report which is available to all students/faculty/staff and applicants for admission. It provides information on fire safety, crime prevention, housing safety, policies and safety tips. Additional detailed information on campus security is distributed to each student and staff member in the Lehigh handbook and in residence life publications.
